(sigh)

Read all the posts on this problem and tried solutions including uploading in binary, turning php safe mode off, restarting apache, but still get following:

PHP script /home/virtual/site5/fst/var/www/html/randomizer/install.php is protected by SourceGuardian and requires file ixed.4.3.8.lin or ixed.4.3.lin.
Please read SourceGuardian protected scripts manual.

Neutral

Help......

Please.....

Thanks.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing troubles with your install, download this script http://www.sourceguardian.com/ixeds/sg4-howto-install.zip and unzip it, inside you will find a php script to run from your browser, for ex. www.yourrandomizer.com/howto-install.php, run the script and it will show you what needs to be done serverwide in order for the script to run also if there is anything needed on your end too! Hope this helps!

Thanks

So i that and it said,

How to install SourceGuardian loaders
Server-wide setup

Download ixed4.lin.x86-32.tar.gz (for Intel x86 32-bit processor) or ixed4.lin.x86-64.tar.gz (for Intel x86 64-bit processor)
Extract it to folder /usr/lib/php4
Edit PHP.INI file (located at /etc/php.ini) and add following line:
extension=ixed.4.3.lin

Run-time loading
Run-time loading is not possible because of safe mode.
Use server-wide setup or re-configure PHP engine.

So I followed those directions as well (not a small task considering I couldn't change the permissions of that directory to upload without using UNIX SSH for goodness sakes).

Same problem persists. Any other ideas?

I'm fairly certian it's 32 bit because I think it's just a Celeron machine. That's why i did the 32 bit files.

Thanks Manish,

So now I through the point where it asks you to make a username for the admin and I do that and the next page says "Couldn't select database".
He's already replied to this...

That means the database username or login is incorrect, if your sql server isn't setup on localhost by default, that could also be the issue.
