Chances of having problems with paypal?

I saw a few different posts throughout the forum saying that paypal shut down their account.

Is this a common thing?

Has anyone been running a successful randomizer for awhile using paypal with no problems?

I already have members in my list and I've accepted both paypal and stormpay, am I better off telling them all to no longer use paypal?

I am confused because I saw a post earlier on from Manish saying that the newer version takes care of the paypal problem, and I am using the most current version.

all help is appreciated

thanks

Hi Patrick,

No one here will be able to give you accurate advice on whether your website is OK with Paypal. There have been many cases where people have had their paypal account shut down but there are others who are accepting paypal without any problems on their site.

Although the latest version of TheRandomizer script has many features that a randomizer owner can offer to his/her members (including text ads, downloads etc), there is no guarantee that this will be OK with Paypal. Its best to consult an attorney from your area who deals with online businesses and TOS.

Regarding Paypal. It is true they wil not allow your site.

Hello yes I decided to check about this and I had them take a look at a randomizer site and they stated quite categorically that it was not possible for a site like a randomizer to be used on their system, it would eventually be cut off or cancelled as it contravenes some standard they have. The information is actually there on the paypal business acceptable sites. Thats why I checked. Randomisers and Pyramids and many other similar type sites including autosurfing programs are targets for questionable ability on paypal.
Sorry to say better to stay away. Stormpay is the choice.
Don't use Paypal

I agree with hojusaram!

Randomizers are by definition open end programs and there will
always be a majority of members who are not getting their money back.

However: if you use the script in a different way, whereas you
make it a tripple sales page, 1. Buy Product and License to resell it,
2. Buy Sales website and promo tools, 3. Buy hosting and maintenance,
without promoting the randomizer as such, then you may have a chance
using paypal.

In such a case the Sponsor could be a Seller of some licensed resell
product, the website and downloadable tools could be sold by a random
user and hosting by admin. You dress the whole thing up as an ad co-op
and your show is on the road. The co-op is organized by admin and it
promotes the participants randomly. The participants sell their resell
product and the website.

This supposes however that you can tweak the script accordingly, which
in the present case is prohibited by the License.....

Here I recommend to use Stormpay and E-Gold...now as you can fund
Stormpay with E-Gold even Stormpay allone is good enough.

Don't use Moneybookers either as they apply similar rules as Paypal.

The problem of the license of therandomizer:

by limiting the tweaks, therandomizer script can only be used as for
illegitimate programs(according to paypal rules). This is too bad as it is a
great script, just not intelligently flexible due to the restrictions and
therefore useless for legitimate business.

Basically all affiliate programs work like randomizers except that there
is no random selection. The other way around: you can build a randomizer
with any affiliate program script where you can pay multi-tiers by
introducing a script variable for the referral Id of one payment.

Conclusion: Randomizers in the present form and shape have always
this lotery function which makes them attractive for many clients.

In our License where we are not allowed to tweak and where we are
constraint to leave the "Powered by" button on our site, there is no
chance to be ever acceptable to Paypal. Even if you tweak this script
the "Powered by" link will always lead to the sales page which promotes
the merits of the Randomizer. In fact the sales page induces us into the
error to believe, that this script can be used in connection with Paypal
and or Moneybookers. The only smart way to find out: go and ask Paypal
and find out what they think...that's exactly what I did; your local
lawyer is of no good help here as Paypal follows it's own appreciations.

By imposing the present limitations this great script will never reach the
excellency it deserves and will always remain the bases for programs with
illegitimate (according to the rules of Paypal) purposes.

Alexandra

PS: Hope this gives some ideas about what can and what could be done
with this script...

Well said Alexandra.

Right - I called them too and even though i am actually selling products and services form my website (with the randomizer script), as soon as I mentioned the words that people are paid for refering others and some members are selected at random to also receive a payment - paypal said absolutely not.

So, it doesn't matter how you sugar coat it, if you're paying people for referrals and or selecting members at random to receive a payment, you cannot use paypal.
